Ballarat’s foster families will this year experience the true meaning of Christmas spirit.
The SJD Foundation, in conjunction with Child and Family Services Ballarat, have organised the production of 70 Christmas hampers for local foster families as a thanks for their immense contribution to the community.
SJD Foundation director Brayden Dorney said the initiative has received a huge contribution from local businesses.
“Usually each Christmas we try and focus on the children and give them something to look forward to,” Mr Dorney said.
“We thought this year that we would mix it up, include something different and give something back to the foster families, because they’ve given so much to the children that they’ve taken in out of the goodness of their heart.
