A huge thank you to Ben Roberts and the team at Golf City Ballarat for their generous suport once again!
On the weekend, Golf City Driving Range held their annual Golf Charity Day for the SJD Foundation. It was a cold, wet, wintery day and still over 170 players turned out to support us. We would like to thank all of the generous sponsors and players who helped make today a great success. Your donations will make such a difference to those in our local community who need it the most.

Happy Easter to all!
We were proud to be able to donate a huge amount of chocolate eggs and other treats for the CAFS Foster and Kinship Care children, which were gratefully accepted by Foster Care Practitioner Sasha Ward, pictured. The children will enjoy their Easter even more now as they will be used in an Easter egg hunt! Are you interested in becoming a Foster Carer? For more information, click here https://www.cafs.org.au/become-a-foster-carer CAFS would love to hear from you! Thank you to Dan O'Toole Signs for producing and installing the new signage at the Delacombe Community Centre. Yuille Park Young Parents Program are our tenants and they do an awesome job of assisting young mothers integration back into education. Check out their website at www.yuilleyoungparentscampus.com
We were proud once again this year to assist some local families with brand new back to school gear and stationery to make sure these kids are looking forward to heading back to school for 2021. Thanks to Eureka Mums for organising this drop to the families who needed it through their network.
Board Members and Volunteers worked hard last week to put together 70 Santa Sacks full of food and gift items for families associated with Child and Family Services Ballarat (CAFS).
The sacks full of goodies from local businesses Shepp Cannery Surplus and Woolworths will be a welcome addition to the Christmas celebrations at the range of families who are in the most need of assistance this Christmas. These sacks were delivered today to CAFS in time for them to distribute to the needy families. Pictured here are Nicole, Gavin & Brayden from the SJD Foundation Ballarat Inc Board delivering the sacks. Well done to all and to our local business partners once again! Today we donated 10 very much needed puffer coats to the Soup Bus to distribute to their clients.
Thank you to Nicole from our board of management for organising this and of course to the Soup Bus for their tireless work in the area of homelessness in Ballarat. This week we were able to collate and deliver 72 food boxes to local foster families through CAFS Ballarat... to make this Easter a special time for these wonderfully caring people.
This was all made possible by local Ballarat Samaritan Jake Warren who raised $4,000 to shave off his impressive beard. Jake even helped us pack the boxes today! Also a big thank you to Woolies Stockland who assisted with getting access to the necessities and some choccy treats too. Click the images for larger versions. A big thank you to this great event who have organised a day of cricketing fun at Victoria Park in Ballarat. Games were played, raffles drawn and money raised for the SJD Foundation Ballarat Inc.
A huge thanks to Brendan and Victoria Police for their efforts in raising the money and handing it over to us to distribute to our causes throughout the year. We have once again supported the Eureka Mums group with their #toolsforschool campaign. With our assistance, students can start the school year with the essentials! New backpacks, lunch boxes, drink bottles and school stationary.
We plan to support this every January. Not all kids look forward to the school year returning because they don't have new shoes or a new school bag or stationery - we are pleased to be able to provide these items to the kids in need. Sunday 26th November 2017 saw the annual SJD Foundation Ballarat Inc. Charity Golf Day run and won. Thank you to Ben Roberts for helping us raise much needed funds that will allow us to brighten Christmas this year for many children in the Ballarat region who are not as fortunate as we are.
Great job by Jarrod Page for running the drinks cart all day, Brayden and Lucy for running the BBQ and Nicole Roberts for helping out with the food also. See below some pics from the day. |
